What it is
Retatrutide (development code LY3437943) is an investigational, single-molecule “triple agonist” being studied by its developer. It is designed to act on three receptor pathways involved in metabolism and appetite regulation — the GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptors — and is delivered as a once-weekly injectable in clinical studies.
It belongs to the same broad family as the GLP-1 medicines you may have heard of, but it is a distinct, earlier-stage molecule that has not completed the regulatory process.
Where it stands today
Retatrutide is investigational. As of 2026 it remains in Phase 3 clinical trials and has not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for any use. The FDA has not evaluated or found it to be safe or effective for any purpose.
Today, the only lawful way to access retatrutide is by enrolling in an authorized clinical trial run by its developer. It is not legally available online, in pharmacies, or through telehealth.
