1. Federal regulatory framework
FDA — compounded medications
Compounded medications dispensed through Orbit Health are not FDA-approved. The FDA regulates compounding pharmacies under two pathways:
- 503A pharmacies compound on a patient-specific prescription basis. Most prescriptions through Dripology Rx are prepared this way — your provider writes a prescription specific to you, which a state-licensed pharmacy then compounds.
- 503B outsourcing facilities are registered with the FDA, undergo FDA inspections, and may compound from a defined set of substances on the FDA’s 503B Bulk Drug Substances List. Certain commercially available products — for example, some vitamin preparations such as B12 — may be sourced this way.
These FDA bulk drug substances lists are actively maintained and change over time. Substances may be added, evaluated, or removed. A compounded medication available today may become unavailable in the future based on FDA action.
FDA — prescription-only status
All medications offered through Dripology Rx require a valid prescription from a state-licensed prescriber. Dripology Rx does not sell medications and does not dispense.
FTC — marketing claims and referral disclosure
The Federal Trade Commission requires that health-related marketing claims be truthful and substantiated, and that material relationships between marketers and the sellers they refer to be disclosed. Dripology and Orbit Health have a co-marketing and referral arrangement. Dripology may receive compensation when patients referred from this site become Orbit Health customers. This arrangement does not influence the prescriber’s independent clinical judgment.
2. State regulatory framework
State medical boards
Each U.S. state medical board sets the rules for telehealth practice within that state, including standards for the prescriber-patient relationship, evaluation requirements, prescribing scope, and follow-up care. Orbit Health’s prescriber network maintains licensure consistent with the states it serves.
State pharmacy boards
Each state pharmacy board regulates which compounded medications may be lawfully dispensed within that state. Dispensing rules vary, and a medication available in one state may not be available — or may be subject to different rules — in another.
State-level scheduled or restricted substances
Some substances are subject to additional state-level restrictions beyond federal rules. Your prescriber will determine whether any particular medication can lawfully be prescribed to you given your state of residence at the time of your consultation.
3. What this means for you, the patient
- The medication you are interested in may or may not be available in your state.
- Your Orbit Health prescriber, not Dripology Rx, makes the determination.
- That determination is made at the time of your consultation, based on then-current federal and state rules.
- If a medication is not available to you, your prescriber may discuss alternatives, request additional information (such as labs), or determine that no compounded option is appropriate at this time.
- You are not charged unless and until a prescriber prescribes a medication and you choose to proceed.

Product listings on dripologyrx.com are educational. They describe peptide and prescription wellness categories and the indicative pricing Dripology has set for compounded versions of these medications when made available through Orbit Health. A product appearing on this site is not a representation that it is available to you specifically or in your state specifically. Availability is confirmed only by your prescriber at consultation.
5. Specific category considerations
GLP-1 medications (tirzepatide, semaglutide)
Compounded GLP-1 medications are distinct from branded FDA-approved products such as Mounjaro®, Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Zepbound®, which are manufactured by Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk respectively. Compounded versions are prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies for patient-specific prescriptions and have not been individually evaluated by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or bioequivalence to the branded products. FDA enforcement guidance regarding compounded GLP-1s is evolving; availability may change.
Hormone therapy (TRT, HRT)
Hormone therapy requires recent laboratory testing and a complete medical history review. Eligibility, dosing, and monitoring are determined by your prescriber. State telehealth rules around hormone prescribing vary; your prescriber will confirm what is permitted in your state.
Research peptides (TB-500, BPC-157, MOTS-c, sermorelin, CJC-1295/Ipamorelin, custom blends)
Several research peptides have been the subject of recent FDA review with respect to compounding bulk-substance status. Availability is subject to current FDA action and state rules. Your prescriber will determine whether any particular peptide is available, appropriate, and lawful to prescribe to you in your state at the time of your consultation.
Sexual wellness (PDE5 inhibitors)
Tadalafil and sildenafil active ingredients are FDA-approved in branded formulations. Compounded versions differ from branded products and require a prescription following provider review of medical history, particularly for cardiovascular conditions and concurrent medications.
